Distribution: Western Atlantic Ocean, from the Gulf of Mexico and Florida to Venezuela. Easy to spot while snorkeling the Caribbean’s shallow seagrass beds, particularly in Aruba, the Grenadines, the Bahamas and the eastern coast of Panama.
Its coloration is variable, from light pink and brown to bright red, sometimes greenish.
