Nosestripe anemonefish, whitebacked clownfish
Distribution: from eastern Africa to Java. Common in western Indian Ocean, particularly in Madagascar, Comoros, Mayotte and Seychelles. Absent of the Maldives, the Laccadives and Sri Lanka (replaced in this region by Amphiprion nigripes).
Hosted exclusively by Heteractis magnifica and Stichodactyla mertensii sea anemones.
Often confused with Amphiprion nigripes (distinguished by location) and Amphiprion sandaracinos (distinguished by location and orange color).
