Red lionfish
Distribution: from Cocos Islands and eastern Indian Ocean to Korea, Marquesas, Australes, New Zealand and Lord Howe. Invasive in the Caribbean.
Nearly identical in apparence to Pterois miles, found in the Indian Ocean. Sometimes confused with Pterois antennata.
