Distribution: from the Red Sea and Eastern Africa to Southern Japan, Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Caledonia. Also present in Eastern Pacific Ocean, from Costa Rica to Panama and the Galápagos Islands. Very common in Maldives and the Galápagos.
